I am not quite sure how one does this. I guess I shouldn't compare this to anyone else's work because this is under life of Sara Haseeb and not life of everyone.
I have this habit though, I keep comparing myself to others. I know it's wrong. I know it in my subconscious that there is absolutely nothing I will gain from comparing myself to others, but we all do it right? Right.
Question is, what direction do I want to take this? Do I want to talk about my life? My background? From childhood? From what age? Or do I talk about my present? Or where I want to take my future? Will anyone even care? Or are you writing this because you just want to write something because it has been a minute and a half (basically forever) since you've written a long essay and you know, eventually publish this one day accidentally.
I think the previous paragraph was more of an outline to this pilot page. I'll talk about my background, from whatever age of childhood I remember and then move on to my present? And then I could probably break each highlight into a chapter. Sounds like a plan.
Let's do it.
So hi, I'm Sara Haseeb. As you would have learned by now, I do not know what I am doing and I don't know where this is going. I will never be important enough to have this published, because let's be real, I don't know how to do this. I keep spiraling and derailing, kind of how I handle my life.
See, I derailed again...
So, where was I?
I am Sara Haseeb. Pakistani girl, brought up in the UAE. I am an only child of two amazing parents, Asad Haseeb and Shahnaz Haseeb.
I was born in 1994 in Karachi, Pakistan. I spent 3 months there as a child. My mother stayed with my grandmother amijaan while my Dad was trying to find us a home in the country where he had his job, Bahrain.
3 months later, we moved to Bahrain and that is where I spent ages 3 months - 3 years. To be honest, I cannot write anything exciting in this paragraph as I was a toddler and hardly remember anything by memory. But I will say, I had an epic 2nd Birthday in Bahrain. We made quite a few close connections with families in Bahrain. One of which is an Aunty called Rehana. She is a gem from God that has been a continuous blessing and support for our family. (Wow Sara, so informative....?)
Like I said, I don't know how I want this thing to go, so just deal.
3 years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates and have been here ever since. To those that do not understand where United Arab Emirates is, it is where Dubai is. But I cannot say I moved to Dubai because I have lived in Sharjah my whole life and that is a different Emirate. What is Emirate you ask? Our cities are called Emirates. The UAE (United Arab Emirates) consists of 7 emirates, you don't need to know all of them but just know that Dubai is not the capital of the country, it is Abu Dhabi and Sharjah is the 'city' that I was brought to and live in till date.
So I guess this is the 'thrilling' pilot episode into my life? Where I teach you information about people you have never met and a little bit of Geography? Cool.
Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool, cool. It might get better, I promise.
