The one question I ask myself every single day without fail is "what is the point of it all?". Followed by "what are you doing? Please stop.". And I think I need to change my mindset or questions because being alive means you are a constant work in progress. So if you don't know what the point is, it's fine. But stop questioning it, and find your purpose.
It's a weird time to be alive. There's so much going on in the world, what does one even focus on? I always wonder whether Boomers had to go through life the same way we are going through it. Did they have the same level of intensity with everything around them? Or is this something we created? Do I dare ask my parents - because we all know it'll turn into a lecture of how they had it worse than we do (and who knows, maybe they did for their time)...
So what really is the point of it all? Do we just go through life, working, paying bills, eating food, watching Netflix, semi-socializing because we're too tired to engage in any normal conversation past 8 PM on a working day because our brain fuels are running low? Because honestly, I don't want that.
If I recap 2019, it was an emotional roller-coaster. Just as every other year has been. But I realized, once I started accepting (and to some extent understanding and/or letting go) of what made me anxious and once I started letting in any positive energy in any shape or form whatsoever.. I felt a whole lot better. Maybe not emotionally, but temporarily mentally, I definitely did.
So I figured, maybe in 2020, I'll let life do it's thing and hit me with facts and other life stuff but I'll take my time out for myself somehow because life won't let me take a break otherwise. I keep thinking "how can it get any worse that it already is?" and life says, "here you go, another plot twist in your life". So maybe I'll start with asking "I wonder how I can change this situation around" and watch life go "good thoughts Sara, I'll spare you today".
Please note: life might even go "I like that positive mentality, let's throw a curve-ball and see how you handle it" but it's okay, because mentally, we're prepared for curve-balls and we're WIP's so we'll be emotionally prepared someday too.
So back to my daily question, what is the point of it all? Today's answer, I think it's what you choose for it to be. You work hard, you get paid, you save money, you try to have fun in life. Emphasis on try. Focus on try. Because honestly, no matter who you are and what you do or what you are going through, you deserve to have some fun in life and laugh a little.
Let's try not to be so hard on ourselves, on others, and on the world. Everyone needs some attention, everyone needs some love, everyone needs some motivation to do better in life. So let's try to help each other be the best versions of ourselves. Save yourself, save others, save the world maybe.
Got too dramatic with my last sentence, drama is my middle name, but also, it's my blog, I'm allowed.
